Thanks for responding. Didn't know whether there was any life here or not.
Here's the basic book info . . . 5x8 inches, 226 pages with photos and maps, and about twenty of my own tales written over the years, along with the earliest tale of a hitch-hiker that I managed to discover, found in an old 1916 newspaper, before they even invented the term.
Most of my own hitching was done on the west coast, mainly California, but there were also cross-country trips, and a 19-month journey through Britain and Europe — actually, I wrote an earlier book on that, and just took a couple tales from it for this one. There were some amazing synchronicities, as must have happened to you if you were on the road, too.
The book is titled Derelict Days... Sixty years on the roadside path to enlightenment
. It was published at Authorhouse late in 2004, and they charge $13.50 for a copy, plus shipping and handling. But if you would like it direct from me (and signed), I'll send it postpaid for just $10. My mailing address is: Irv Thomas, 6545 Ravenna Ave. NE, #307
, Seattle, WA 98115.
Again, much thanks for your response and interest.
